Good Sunday afternoon!
We are quickly approaching winter break and the conclusion of the first half of our school year. I hope everyone has had a great first part of the school year! I just wanted to take a second to remind everyone that the Wright City West Elementary Student Council is conducting a food drive. It will last until this Thursday, December 14th. All donations will go to our backpack program which provides food to our families in need in our community. Items needed include: canned food, mac and cheese, chips/crackers, canned soup, oatmeal, granola bars, water bottles, etc. Students can bring in their supplies and turn them into their classroom teachers. Please consider donating to those in need in our community!
Have a great week! As always it’s great to be a Wildcat!

ABCs of Student Success
N is for “Nothing”!
Has your child ever responded with saying “nothing” when you asked them what they did at school that day? As a parent, I’m sure you want to know what is going on in school and what your child is doing each day. Linked below is an article from Edutopia on how to engage with your students and talk about their day in a deeper way. We know that sometimes our kids won’t open up right away when we ask, “How was your day?” This article provides some great ideas on how to draw out more information from your students, so you will know what is going on in school!
