Inclement Weather Info

Dear Wildcat Families,

The purpose of this notice is to inform you of the inclement weather procedures the district will implement for the 21-22 school year. Please read the following carefully.

Snow Day #1 - If school is canceled due to inclement weather before January 4th, the district will make that day up with in-seat education on January 17th (MLK Day).

Snow Day #2 - If school is canceled before February 1st due to inclement weather, the district will make that day up with in-seat education on February 21st (Presidents Day).

Snow Day #3, 4, 5, 6, 7 will be AMI (Alternative Method Instruction) Days. When school is not able to be in session due to inclement weather on other days, the district will announce that we are having an AMI Day.

On these days, students PreK-5th grade will access previously sent home “blizzard bags”, and all work should be completed and returned when school resumes. Teachers will have office hours and can be reached if families have any questions during the day.

6th - 12th grade students should log in with their chromebooks to receive assignments from their teachers. Teachers will have office hours and can be reached if families have any questions during the day. Students without access to the internet will receive packets of learning material that will need to be completed and submitted upon returning to school.

Attendance will be taken on AMI days so participation is necessary.

The purpose of using AMI is that instruction days are not missed if we should have several bad weather days.

Any inclement weather days after day #7 may be added on to the end of the calendar.

To summarize if the district announces a SNOW day it is just that a regular snow day. If the district announces an AMI day students are expected to complete the assigned work from their teacher to get participation for that day.

If we announce SNOW ROUTES here is where you can find the district's snow routes for buses.
