Dr. Amy Salvo has served as Superintendent of the Wright City R-II School District since 2024. 


She brings over 23 years of experience in education, supported by a strong academic background. Dr. Salvo
holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology and a doctorate in educational leadership from
Maryville University, along with master’s degrees in classroom teaching and educational administration from Missouri Baptist University. Her academic and professional journey reflects a lifelong commitment to student growth and continuous improvement.

Before joining Wright City R-II, Dr. Salvo served in several key leadership roles across Missouri. As Deputy Superintendent in the Francis Howell School District, she worked closely with law enforcement on safety
protocols and chaired the district’s policy committee. At Lincoln County R-III, she served as Director of Social Emotional Learning & Supports, where she launched a District Parent Series, presented at legislative events, and taught as an adjunct instructor. Her principal roles at Troy South Middle School and New Horizons High School highlighted her ability to lead large-scale transitions and implement programs that improved student outcomes and school culture.

In the 2024–25 school year, Dr. Amy Salvo led the Wright City R-II School District through a year of meaningful progress. She oversaw the opening of the new high school, implemented enhanced safety measures across the district, and guided schools to notable improvements in student attendance. Her leadership reflected a clear commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and high-achieving learning environment.

 

 

Board of Education President Austin Jones noted:

“Dr. Salvo’s leadership continues to align with our district’s Master Plan—supporting academic achievement, managing district growth, and overseeing key milestones in Wright City R-II history.”

After her first year, Dr. Salvo remains focused on collaboration and long-term progress:

“It’s been a privilege to return to Wright City and serve the district that shaped me. I look forward to continuing to work alongside students, staff, families, and the community to create opportunities that inspire and support every learner.”
