Facility Usage
As a service to the community and in accordance with law, the Board of Education may allow community groups as defined in policy KG to use district facilities for educational, recreational, social, civic, philanthropic and other similar purposes when the facilities are not being used by the district or district-sponsored groups. The superintendent or designee is directed to create and enforce procedures addressing facility use and may approve or deny facility use requests in accordance with this policy. Granting a request to use district facilities does not constitute district endorsement of the activity, organization, organization's mission or any opinion expressed by the groups or members of the groups.
Further procedural details may be found in KG-AP(1). Non district-sponsored groups may apply online for Special Event Insurance at the Missouri United School Insurance Council (MUSIC).

Get The Lead Out
Wright City R-II School District is committed to protecting the health of Wright City R-II students and staff. In 2022, the ‘Get the Lead out of School Drinking Water Act (RSMo 160.077) was passed by the Missouri legislature, and it set the standard for lead concentrations in school drinking water. Per the regulations, schools are required to conduct inventory, sampling, remediation, and monitoring of all potable drinking water outlets used or potentially used for consumption or cleaning.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) currently has a lead drinking water standard limit of 15 parts per billion (ppb) of lead in water. However, Missouri law requires that all Missouri schools achieve a 5 ppb limit of lead in water.
Results as reported are below:
Central Office A contractor, Intertek-PSI, conducted testing on 3 water sources within the building, as 1 of the 4 water sources were not working at the time of testing.
We were notified the results of testing indicated zero water sources at Central Office had lead concentrations over 5 ppb..
Wright City Early Childhood A contractor, Intertek-PSI, conducted testing on 9 water sources within the building, as 2 of the 11 water sources were not working at the time of testing.
We were notified the results of testing indicated zero water sources at Wright City Early Childhood had lead concentrations over 5 ppb.
Wright City East ElementaryA contractor, Intertek-PSI, conducted testing on 23 water sources within the building, as 4 of the 28 water sources were not working at the time of sampling and 1 of the 28 sources was unable to be sampled since detergent/soap is directly in the faucet.
We were notified that the preliminary results of testing indicated four water sources at Wright City East Elementary with the following lead concentrations over 5 ppb.:
- Two spray nozzles in the Kitchen with a detected lead concentration of 83.5 ppb and 54.6 ppb.
- One kitchen faucet in the Kitchen with a detected lead concentration of 14.7 ppb.
- One pot filler in the Kitchen with a detected lead concentration of 7.6 ppb.
PSI recommends that this water source continue to remain shut-off (not in use) and that School District plumbers evaluate the fixture and plumbing to determine what may be different with this source/piping as compared to the other ones within the facility or School District. We will replace the necessary components in all areas and conduct additional testing before using the water for cooking or drinking.
Wright City West ElementaryA contractor, Intertek-PSI, conducted testing on 29 water sources within the building, as 10 of the 39 water sources were not working at the time of sampling.
We were notified that the preliminary results of testing indicated nine water sources at Wright City West Elementary with the following lead concentrations over 5 ppb:
- One spray nozzle in the Kitchen with a detected lead concentration of 8.5 ppb.
- One faucet in Room 145 with a detected lead concentration of 11.7 ppb.
- One faucet in Room 151 with a detected lead concentration of 25 ppb.
- One faucet in the Library Storage Room 156 with a detected lead concentration of 14 ppb.
- One faucet in Room 167 with a detected lead concentration of 22.7 ppb.
- One faucet in Room 172 with a detected lead concentration of 22.1 ppb.
- One faucet in Room 175 with a detected lead concentration of 44.7 ppb.
- One faucet in Room 179 with a detected lead concentration of 24.9 ppb.
- One faucet in Room 200 with a detected lead concentration of 13.7 ppb.
Wright City Middle SchoolA contractor, Intertek-PSI, conducted testing on 38 water sources within the building, as 9 of the 47 water sources were not working at the time of sampling.
We were notified that the preliminary results of testing indicated seven water sources at Wright City Middle School with the following lead concentrations over 5 ppb:
- One spray nozzle in the Kitchen with a detected lead concentration of 11.9 ppb.
- One pot filler in the Kitchen with a detected lead concentration of 11 ppb.
- Three kitchen faucets with detected lead concentrations of 48.8 ppb, 11.9 ppb, and 14.7 ppb.
- Two washing facets in the Kitchen with detected lead concentrations of 25.3 ppb and 43.7 ppb.
Wright City High SchoolA contractor, Intertek-PSI conducted testing on 21 water sources within the building, as 6 of the 27 water sources were not working at the time of sampling.
We were notified that the preliminary results of testing indicated four water sources at Wright City High School with the following lead concentrations over 5 ppb:
- Three faucets in the Room AG with detected lead concentrations of 8.1 ppb, 8.1 ppb, 516 ppb.
- One washing faucet in the Kitchen with a detected lead concentration of 15.8 ppb.
Wright City High School - Concession StandA contractor, Intertek-PSI, conducted testing on 2 water sources within the building, as 1 of the 3 water sources were not working at the time of sampling.
We were notified that the preliminary results of testing indicated one water source at the Concession Stand with the following lead concentrations over 5 ppb:
- One faucet with a detected lead concentration of 7 ppb.
