Five Year Program of Study
The ICAP (Individual Career Academic Plan) is essentially a five year plan. This is an approach to prepare students for a career/life path after High School. For some this will mean college, for others a technical/vocational school, while others will proceed directly into the workforce. Whatever a student aspires to be, planning is neccessary to maximize their chances of success at the next level. The ICAP involves course planning while in school. Students should choose classes most beneficial to achieving their path. But, planing doesn't end there. We challenge students to have a plan for the next year after High School. To know prior to graduation what they will be doing for the first year after High School. This forward planning is the ICAP. We utilize Missouri Connections to provide resources for the ICAP including career paths, job options, job growth projections and how to obtain the needed training to get there.
Student and Parents can access course planning for all four years of High School on their Infinite Campus Webpage under the Academic Planing Tab/Link. We encourage students to review their plan throughout high school and adjust courses to meet graduation requirments and career planing goals. Students are regularly exposed to this planing tool for scheduling and ICAP development. Students cn access their ICAP in Missouri Connections via Clever and use this to match classes in their Academic planner of Infinite Campus. Feel free to contact counselors if you need assistance with this process.
