On Tuesday, November 22nd, the first graders will be participating in a fun filled day all about Thanksgiving! Our round robin Thanksgiving Day begins in Miss Morton’s room where the students will be learning about the first Thanksgiving feast in a movie called “The Mayflower Voyagers.” Next stop is Miss Fortner’s room where the first graders will be learning about different symbols that the Native Americans used as a form of communication. In Mrs. Perry’s room, the students will be making Thanksgiving charm necklaces to show what they are thankful for. In Mrs. Gray’s room, the students will be enjoying a read aloud called “The Night Before Thanksgiving” and making Indian bead bracelets. Playing an Indian math game called “Hubbub” will be a favorite of most students as they play the game in Mrs. Mazzei’s room! Last stop is Mrs. Robinson’s room where the students will be performing a Pilgrim play and making their own props! What a fun and educational day that our first graders get to look forward to! Happy Thanksgiving!
