Preschool students spent the day making cards, holiday decorations, and cookies for local, deployed troops. The students punchedschoolcraft2.jpg out big and little stars out of blue and red paper and glued them on the cards. They pinched off patriotic stickers for additional decoration.
Fluffy snowmen were made by pulling small bits of cotton apart and sticking it on snowmen stencils placed on contact paper. Sequins were used to add eyes and buttons. Paper noses and mouths were used to finish the snowmen. schoolcraft3.jpg
Students then painted gingerbread pictures and added sequins and foam shapes. Glitter added a festive touch to the houses. The favorite part of the day was rolling sugar cookies into balls and then rolling the balls in colored sugar. Students were then able to watch the cookies bake. The students worked on fine motor skills, concepts such as big and little, colors, shapes, and science while benefiting local, deployed troops.
