Technology Plan
Every three years every Missouri school district is required to submit a technology plan to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
Staff Training Requirements
One of the requirements of the “No Child Left Behind Act” is that all students should be considered technology literate by their 8th grade year. Our district believes that in order to instruct our students in technology, all of our staff need to understand technology as well. The district’s technology training program is broken down into 3 Tiers:
Tier 1 Technology Training
Tier 1 is the first of three technology training levels. This level contains tasks that the majority of staff members will use on a day to day basis. All staff must show proficiency in these areas by the end of the 2007-2008 school year or within 1 year of their hire date.
Tier 2 Technology Training
Tier 2 Technology Training is targeted towards the integration of technology into student learning, classroom communication, and using technology as a teaching tool. Teachers are expected to complete five (5) classes per year for a 2 year period.
Tier 3 Technology Training
Tier 3 Technology Training is targeted towards more advanced users. Classes offered at this level are voluntary
